Same feeling
When I met Bob and Dee, back in 2004, I noticed that most of the meningitis angels, at that meeting (including the ones, represented by pictures, who had succumbed to the disease.)
The first morning, at breakfast, when I told Dee about how the people, in our church began praying, as soon as they were told I was dying - and didn't stop until I was out of a 10-week coma.
And, 16 years later, I still recall how Dee threw her hands up in the air, about that.

Over the years, I've realized how much gentler, this disease was, in my case, than in many of the others, whose victims

In the 15 years, since I met them, I have, not only, appreciated their friendship, I've appreciated help the BWMF has offered me.

I still have the same feeling that I am not worthy of being here....My sister told me how Dr. Scott didn't expect me to live, through the night - and, that was 49 years ago - and, how, when I saw him, in 1998, his chin dropped when he realized that half-dead 10-year old was a fully-alive 37 year old.

I wish Becky and many of the other HBA's, had been able to do the same thing.

Thank you for your story
I want to thank you for doing this for your daughter. I was able to meet you today at the Kansas Academy of Family Physicians Vaccines 4 Teens panel I was fortunate to share with you. (I was the one sitting by you who was also not an MD that we were labeled as for the panel, lol) I wish it was not your personal story that I will use to reinforce my DAILY push for better meningococcal meningitis vaccinations in ALL of my adolescent patients. I will hold my token as a forever reminder of Becky. I thank you for sharing your story. I will use your story in the future MANY times. Becky will live on in the name of the protection of vaccines! God Bless!

Meningitis is another plague which affects more and more people. We tend to forget easy how blessed we are when we are healthy.

Congrats for your activity!

Hi Bec
Well, well.....we made it another year. Is it getting any easier? No. God, I wish you were here. There is so much life to enjoy and I miss that I have not been able to share it with you. Little Sylvia is such a gift, such a happy little girl. Your sister is a great mom, you would be so proud of her. She is going to have another little one before your next birthday. Life keeps happening and I keep loving and missing you. I love you Bec, always have, always will.....
